Cross Country is a sport in which people run a race on open-air courses over natural terrain. The course is 5K long for boys and girls which may include surfaces of grass and earth, pass through wooded areas and open country, and include hills, flat ground and sometimes gravel. It is both an team and an individual sport, as runners are judged on an individual basis and a points scoring method for teams. Both men and women compete in cross country, which takes place during the fall sports season, and can include weather conditions of rain, sleet, snow or hail, and a wide range of temperatures.
The Aurora Cross Country team has a rich history of great runners and historic performances. From individual state champions to run away team championships the Aurora Cross Country team has seen some of the best runners represent its school and community.
